TV presenter and Great British Farm-Fest host Jeremy Clarkson put futuristic food to the test last week after sampling an insect burger made with British-grown cricket protein.
Ahead of this year’s exciting local Festival, Great British Farm-Fest (22–24 May at the NAEC Stoneleigh), Clarkson and the festival’s assembled team (including Kaleb Cooper, Lisa Hogan, Harriet Cowan, Gareth Wyn Jones, Adam Henson and Olly Harrison), were treated to an exclusive tasting experience hosted by the UK Edible Insect Association (UKEIA), showcasing how insects could play a major role in the future of sustainable farming and food production.
The specially prepared cricket burgers highlighted the growing movement towards alternative proteins, with UKEIA set to bring its vision for the future of farming to life in the festival’s Farm Lab area across all three days of the event.
Great British Farm-Fest will celebrate innovation, sustainability and the future of British agriculture, bringing together farmers, food producers, industry experts and families for a hands-on countryside experience.
