Local businessman and philanthropist Sean Reddington is on a mission – to make a dream come true for one struggling Nottingham couple.
He’s gathered together a number of local businesses to come up with a complete wedding package for the couple, at no cost to them at all.
With venue and catering costs rising by 24% per head, as businesses scramble to cover surging government fees, and business rates for wedding venues due to jump by an average of 78% over the next three years, Sean hopes their offer will make one struggling Nottingham couple’s dream a reality, by tying the knot for free.
Sean is no stranger to acts of kindness.
Last year, he was behind the campaign that enabled courageous nine year old Pride of Britain award winner Florrie Bark to meet her hero Katy Perry during her Lifetimes Tour at the 02 last year.
As founder of Thrive Learning and the Reddington pub company – Sean is offering to make the dream come true for a couple who have suffered heartbreak, illness, financial troubles or just had a tough time in the past year.
Sean said, “Huge rises in business rates, hikes in food prices, and punishing energy bills, means prices, for everything, including weddings, have gone up, and ordinary people are suffering.”
The offer, which is worth in excess of £20,000, will include a ceremony set-up and venue hire at The Barn at The Anchor, Gunthorpe.
The local businesses, which include the Barn Anchor at Gunthorpe, Imagine That Wedding, Adam Elijah Photography, Matt Moore Photography, Petal Icon Floristry, Sarahb Weddings and Events and Tom Browns are pulling together to provide a wedding feast, including canapes, a three course wedding breakfast and evening food, plus professional photography and videography.
A leading florist and stylist will also be provided.
Sean said: “I’m hoping our offer will provide an unforgettable moment for the lucky couple selected at a time when life is at its most challenging.”
