BMW Group UK’s Corporate Communications team will once again return to SMMT Drive Live on 23-24 September, with the new BMW iX3 40 making its UK driving debut as the latest addition to the all-electric BMW and MINI line-up.
Available for UK media to drive for the first time, the BMW iX3 40 introduces a new entry point to the iX3 range, priced from £53,250 OTR. The second drivetrain variant of the fully electric Neue Klasse Sports Activity Vehicle shares its styling and core technological innovations with the BMW iX3 50 xDrive, while combining rear-wheel drive with a single electric motor producing 320 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
The iX3 40 offers up to 395 miles* of electric range (WLTP), while its 800-volt architecture supports DC charging at up to 300 kW. At a suitably powered charging station, up to 186 miles of range can be added in just 10 minutes, with a 10–80 per cent charge taking 21 minutes.
Inside, BMW Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X brings the Neue Klasse display and operating concept to the iX3 40. Standard specification is identical to the BMW iX3 50 xDrive, with technologies including Motorway Assistant, which enables hands-off Level 2 assisted driving on UK motorways and allows drivers to initiate lane changes by looking towards the relevant exterior mirror.
The new BMW i7 M70 xDrive will also be on display at SMMT Drive Live, making its UK event debut and giving media an early opportunity to see and create content with the model ahead of its UK market launch.
The new BMW 7 Series brings the latest Neue Klasse technologies to BMW’s flagship luxury saloon. Launching in the UK from September 2026, the all-electric BMW i7 range offers up to 452 miles* (WLTP) in the BMW i7 50 xDrive.
Prices start from £104,230 OTR for the BMW i7 50 xDrive, while the BMW i7 M70 xDrive displayed at SMMT Drive Live is priced from £164,420 OTR.
MINI will showcase the MINI Cooper Electric Paul Smith Edition, the latest production model created through the MINI and Paul Smith collaboration. Edition-specific details include Paul Smith’s Signature Stripe, Nottingham Green accents and distinctive design touches throughout the interior and exterior.
The Paul Smith Edition is available across the Cooper line-up, including the Cooper 5-door and Cooper Convertible. The MINI Cooper Electric Paul Smith Edition is available from retailers now, priced from £32,705 OTR.
Completing the line-up is the enhanced MINI Countryman Electric, which is eligible for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
The MINI Countryman E now offers a WLTP range of up to 307 miles*, supported by a series of technical updates including a new silicon carbide inverter designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce power losses.
