Waresley Park Estate Celebrates Launch of First Wine Produced from Its Own Vineyard

Harvest time at Waresley Park Estate

Waresley Park Estate, a family-run country estate and vineyard in Cambridgeshire, is celebrating the release of its first-ever wine created using only grapes from its own vines. The first 100 bottles of the wine, which is produced using traditional methods, will be available exclusively to members of the Estate’s new Wine Club from July 2026.

The Bacchus grapes, grown on the Estate, are carefully hand-picked by the Waresley team. Last year’s harvest yielded enough grapes to produce 203 bottles of the first vintage, a fresh and expressive English wine with notes of peach and garden mint.

The vineyard was planted by Ben Griggs, Managing Director of Waresley Park Estate, in 2023, as part of the Estate’s wider commitment to seasonal, locally rooted food and drink. Alongside the new wine, the Estate also produces its own gin, inspired by its walled gardens, and grows produce for use in the on-site coffee shop.

Griggs said: “English wine has earned a growing reputation for its quality and character, and we are incredibly proud to be releasing our first vintage at Waresley. This wine has been years in the making and reflects both the care that has gone into the vineyard and the unique qualities of the landscape. It is fresh, elegant and unmistakably shaped by this corner of Cambridgeshire. To celebrate the occasion, we will certainly be raising a glass. There is nothing that will give us greater pleasure than seeing others raise their own glass too.”

Members of Waresley Park Estate’s Wine Club will become part of a small community of wine lovers, with exclusive access to this first release, as well as priority access to future releases.
