KPMG on Oxford-Cambridge Arc and Business Investment in East Anglia

Responding to any fresh Oxford-Cambridge Arc funding or delivery commitment :

Joe Faulkner, East Anglia Office Senior Partner at KPMG UK, said: “Fresh backing for the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, including a new financing model for the Greater Cambridge Development Corporation, will continue to help transform two world-class science centres into a globally competitive super-cluster.

“Strong transport links, alongside sustained investment in housing and infrastructure, will continue to be vital to connect talent with opportunity and help Norfolk and Suffolk’s cleantech and life sciences businesses tap into the Arc’s wider innovation economy. Any funding aimed at improving infrastructure, transport and sustainable growth should support improved access to employment opportunities and, in turn, greater social mobility across our region.”

Responding to further incentives for business investment

Joe Faulkner, East Anglia Office Senior Partner at KPMG UK, said: “New investment incentives for innovative businesses and greater support for young entrepreneurs and female founders could give Cambridge’s research-led firms more firepower to turn scientific breakthroughs into thriving UK and global companies.

“From the University of Cambridge’s spin-outs to the city’s life sciences and technology clusters, these measures could help promising businesses scale, attract talent and strengthen East Anglia’s place as a world-class innovation ecosystem.”
